Home made fresh coffee.
I love freshly made coffee. Eventhough people drink a lot of coffee in here, the coffee price per cup still expensive compare to a home made one. I always make my coffee at home ,and I come up with lot of ways to make a perfect cup of coffee. This time I make my coffee starting from roasting green coffee beans. In order to compare with shop bought roasted coffee beans brewing by coffee machine one. Everybody who loves their fresh coffee, don't miss this blog!
the first picture is the green coffee bean
then roast the bean by a pan on a stove top with low heat.
watch out for the colour of the beans. Don't let them burn. Once the coffee beans is burn, you can not do anythings, its taste will turn burn and unbearable bitterness. You will be wasting you time and money!
the roasting process should takes around 30 mins
then you grind your freshly roasted coffee
transfering the coffee powder into a stove top expresso machine. I have seen this machine in Thailand for sale
cook on the stove top.
now to make a good cup of coffee you need good milk use fresh milk either full cream or skim
Brew the milk with the coffee machine. Below picture ,I made cups of coffee with shop bought coffee bean by the coffee machine. This coffee machine will grind and brew coffee in the same machine. You also can buy this machine in Thailand. However, I think it is overpricing over there! Buy from abroad and bring in is cheaper. I bought mine for my missus birthday present at the sale price. It quite cheap.
the tasting time, I have two cups of each shop bought and my home roasted, each type in two different way of making which are with brewed milk and without milk ( expresso) a glass of water is there to sip in between tasting.
In summary, I prefer shop bought coffee bean with milk to the home roasted one. In another hand, I prefer home roasted expresso coffee more than shop bought made by coffee machine one. I did try to brew my home roasted bean in the machine once, it tasted alright as expresso but with milk it was not nice at all. I would prefer to roast my green beans and brew on the stove. Then serve as Expresso. However, people I serve would have to be a really good friend! Due to its lengthy process.Anyone who like to try to make fresh coffee, either buying the coffee bean from the shop all home roasted one, it is worth trying to make you own fresh coffee as its cost effective too. Let me show you
1 cup of coffee I use
10 gm of coffee beans 4.5 Bath ( from 450 Bath/1kg roasted coffee beans)
milk 150 gm 4.5 Bath ( from 3o Bath / 1 liter of milk)
Sugar 1 bath ( if you like to put, I don't put sugar into my good coffee. you don't need it! )
gas+electricity+water I don't cost them because they are much cheaper than the expense that you spend on travel to the shop to get your fresh coffee.
I don't cost labour because it is a labour for the love of coffee
Then you have your own fresh coffee for 10 Bath. I don't know about you guys, for me a cup of good coffee cost me 120 Bath.
When, I can make it for 10 Bath , Why do I drink it out side for. Beside, if I used cheaper coffee bean, I can save even more!!
See you guys next blog

What a big experiment! it may worth doing for the coffee fan club and I could smell your coffee from here. I used to drink coffee more, but today i prefer tea, ovaltine, or milo. I just want to live a healthy life and don't feel like addicted to something. Fortunately, I'm not too late for that. Today I sometimes have coffee with friends and absolutely, agree that it is still very delicious. That is the reason why coffee is so popular internationally. Now in Thailand, we grow a lot of coffee trees more than before and most of them are impotred from abroad.
Bro, just curious, when you called you Mrs, Missus what does it stand for. Thanks.

Hey sis, Missus stands for a wife, in a polite way. I don't know about US English. I think, I might get a bit of Australian slangs out there. As much as I love coffee, I also consern about the addiction. Anyway, enjoy it in moderation wouldn't hurt that much right. I always enjoy them, I don't really want to think about it ,anymore. It is still better than addicted to Alcohol. Right? Sis

Aunt, Lek. I also plant them, I don't know much about taking the flesh off the coffee fruit to get only its seeds. Anyway, I don't mind to tell you all about brewing coffee, starting from roasting the green seed untill end up with a good cup of fresh coffee. There are lots of ways to brew coffee. Such as , by hand or a puncher. You don't need to by an expensive brewing machine at all. Once, we know about how to get the seed out of the coffee fruit, I can show you all about brewing good fresh coffee!!!
